If you enjoy reading dynamic contemporary poetry, Rebecca Foust has a new book out, The Unexploded Ordnance Bin. Two of her previous collections, Paradise Drive and All that Glorious, Pitiless Song, are among my favorites. Foust is a California poet who has won numerous honors and is the Poet Laureate of Marin County.

ON MY MIND
May 12, 2020
In terms of getting acquainted with my poetry, I can best point readers to some well-known poets who have influenced me with both their content and style. For example, I fell in love with the poetry of Robert Frost, Walt Whitman, and Emily Dickinson as a young student, but as I matured as both a person and a writer, my tastes became much more eclectic. Today, I read a wide range of poets, including Ted Kooser, Louise Gluck, Jane Hirschfield, Rebecca Foust, Ada Limon, Rita Dove, Sharon Olds, Mary Oliver, Natasha Trethaway, Elizabeth Bishop, and David Baker. Indiana poets whose work I respect include Shari Wagner, Alessandra Lynch, Kyle Craig, Adrian Matejka, Dheepa Maturi, Chris Speckman, and Mary Redman.

Although I don’t have the finalized date for its release yet, I have been informed by Finishing Line Press that my chapbook, Touring, will likely be out mid-January, 2021. Pre-publication sales will likely begin in September of 2020, and I will post contact and ordering information on this site at that time. I will greatly appreciate the support of any of you who would be interested in reading my work!
